Fredricks Story
Fredrick was another casualty of Humans and Animals United. Used to generate thousands in donations for this rescue and in the end, he was deprived of proper treatment and ordered killed when he was accused of participating in a dog fight.
Fredrick was a dog that Humans and Animals United “rescued” in February of 2024 from Miami Dade Animal Services (MDAS). He is one of many dogs this rescue dumped on a person with a known history of dogs being seized by animal control. She also had a history of drug charges yet the rescue never conducts background checks on adopters or fosters. Despite all this, the adopter was guilted by HAAU into believing Fredrick would be euthanized if she didn’t take him in while they ignored the dog fights and unfavorable conditions of the foster’s home environment.
Fredrick was promised a good life by this “rescue”, however, what happened to him was a fate that sadly, many of this rescue’s dogs have met. Here is Rosa Fond and her head goon Barbara telling their donors and followers that Fredrick has “a bright future ahead” and they are “so happy to have you as part of the family”. If Humans and Animals United is a “family” – they are an incredibly dysfunctional one at best.
Shortly after agreeing to take Fredrick in, the foster reports that he attacked her personal dog, leaving her with a $2,600 vet bill that HAAU refused to pay any portion of. They brushed it off, ignoring the fact that Fredrick showed signs of anxiety and needed a different home environment with fewer dogs and possibly some training. They simply showed no concern for the incident and did nothing to insure Fredrick would be properly cared for.
Like the other dogs, he was brought to this adopter with no supplies, no monthly preventatives and no follow up vet care – not even a bag of dog food. Fredrick continued to live with this woman under difficult conditions until July 12, 2025 when he was euthanized along with Hercules for being accused of participating in the fatal fight that killed the foster’s personal dog.
The woman was instructed to euthanize Fredrick along with Hercules – a command that came from Rosa Fond herself. No attempts were made by her to rehome Fredrick in a calmer environment with fewer dogs or provide any training despite the rescue generating over $6K in pledges specifically for Fredrick and even more in direct donations and sponsorships for his care.
Knowing that Fredrick had been euthanized, Rosa Fond posted on her Linkedin profile that he had been adopted. This post was from July 2025 and directly coincided with Fredrick’s euthanization. Rosa generates large donations on Linkedin and people donated thousands for Fredrick’s care. Deceiving them into thinking their donations were put to good use and that Fredrick was adopted which implied he was alive and well, is next level deception.
Here’s the emotionally manipulative video this rescue put up about Fredrick. Most people, thinking he was going to be euthanized and this rescue was his only hope, would see this video and feel highly compelled to donate. Sadly, those donations were not used to provide Fredrick with the life he should have had. They were not used to provide dog food for his foster or a single follow up vet appointment. They weren’t even used to have him euthanized and cremated – that fell squarely on the woman they dumped him on. So where did the excess in donations go that were earmarked for Fredrick?
RIP Fredrick. You deserved so much more than what you ultimately received from this “rescue” – one that profited heavily off of your life and death.
