Johnny, Walter, Zach and Chance's Story PART ONE

Sending dogs to a woman charged with "Cruelty To Animals" living in deplorable living conditions. This is how HAAU rolls.

This story perfectly illustrates the deceptive practices Humans and Animals United engages in regularly. It shows how easily they can spin a story that is very far removed from the truth, deceiving their followers and donors. It is a prime example of the way this rescue owner operates and it should alarm anyone who reads it.

The facts contained within this story are primarily the first hand account of the transporter who was tasked with the responsibility of driving all four dogs from Broward County Animal Control in Florida to a known hoarder and animal abuser – Amy Bongiorno. HAAU arranged to have all four dogs sent to Amy and then went about soliciting heavy pledges/donations for every one. The transporter drove all four dogs from Florida to Michigan and upon arrival, was shocked with what he saw. The condition of the home was deplorable, inside and out, and he could not in good conscience leave the dogs with Amy. Thank God he didn’t because what Amy has done since to dogs in her care will send chills down your spine.

Why would a rescue send four dogs all the way from Miami to THIS home in Detroit, Michigan? One thing is for sure – no one with this rescue conducted any due dilligence – no background check, home check – nothing. No concern over placing pittie and bully breeds with total strangers far away and out of site.  Some suspect that Rosa Fond was well aware of the condition of this home, had a long standing friendship with the owner – “Amy B.” that dates back to her stripper days, and simply turned a blind eye in the interest of having a place to dump four dogs that she collected heavy pledges and donations for.  Others believe that she was just following her usual “fast and loose” approach to dumping dogs so she could turn a nice profit, which she did.

Killing/Tortuing Animals

What you are about to read is truly disturbing and should alarm anyone who cares about where HAAU sends their dogs. When HAAU attempted to place these dog with Amy in July 2023, she had already been arrested a year prior on six counts of “Abandoning/Cruelty to 10 or More Animals.” This information is part of the public record, easily found with a simple search of Wayne County court filings.

Why didn’t Rosa fond do a cursory check on Amy that would have taken all of a few minutes? If she did, why did she ignore Amy’s record?

To understand just how unfit this individual was to care for any living creature, consider what followed. Less than two years later, she was charged with “Harboring Two Animals Over the Age of Four Months” and found guilty. a few months later, she was charged with two counts of “Killing/Torturing Animals” and one count of “Abandoning/Cruelty to Ten or More Animals.” As of the time of this writing, all of those charges are in the process of being prosectuted.

Let that sink in.

While Rosa Fond could not predict the future, we all know that a person’s past is the clearest indicator of what they are capable of in the future. Overlooking Amy’s prior animal-cruelty charges was not just careless—it was dangerously reckless and wholly irresponsible for a licensed rescue organization. SEE AMY’s CHARGES HERE

Rosa Fond, owner of Humans and Animals United, denies having had any involvement with this situation and denies having received any donations for these dogs. She and her “volunteers” have scrubbed the internet of all incriminating evidence showing her rescue’s involvement BUT NOT ALL EVIDENCE. They missed a few things .

AT Anderson is one of Rosa Fond's known alias profiles that has since disappeared from sight.

Why would she announce that an adoption hold had been placd on Walter if HAAU was not involved? Why would she solicit pledges for him?

There were heavy pledges/donations on this page that have since been deleted.

Rosa Fond and her rescue pushed for pledges/donations for these dogs all across her fake Facebook profiles and fake networking pages such as these:

"Sasha Jones" is Rosa Fond

"Rescue Me Miami" is Rosa Fond

"Urgent Shelter Dogs" is Rosa Fond

"Barbara Queenbee" is HAAU's chief pledge pusher - here she is promoting Zach for pledges/donations. Remember - she and Rosa Fond already knew that Zach and the others would be going to Amy Bongiorno so the purpose of her post as was with the other posts was strictly to solicit pledges/donations NONE of which went towards these dogs

Mina Biancucci is one of HAAU's pledge pushers. Thought to receive a cut from the money she generates, she solicits heavy pledges on LinkedIn for this rescue – Johnny alone received over $2K on just Mina's LinkedIn page. Most dogs she promotes for Rosa Fond generate thousands on her page alone. If another rescue ends up getting the dog, Mina refuses to help them and denies them any of the pledges/donations. So where does this money end up going if not actually towards the dog it was intended for?

Thousands of comments and even more shares for these four dogs generated untold thousands for a rescue that claims they had "Nothing to do" with what happened to these innocent lives being placed in jeopardy.

Not a bad day's work for four dogs this rescue never laid eyes on, touched or made an effort to ensure would go to good homes. They simply didn't care what happened to them and as a result, Johnny was killed.

We're convinced that based on the additional charges that Amy B. has racked up, all dogs would have met an untimely and tragic death - like so many in Amy's care.
