The “Director’s Assistant” for Humans and Animals United and self proclaimed “Goon” for this rescue, Jonathan Colon Garcia is a convicted felon. In addition to that, he is a known stalker and harrasser of women who will go to extreme lengths to harrass and intimidate everyone who has spoken up against HAAU’s grift.

He unabashedly touts himself to be this rescue’s “Goon” while creating disturbing content about HAAU’s critics – circulating them across social media and furthering a very false narratives that has cost him a major defamation lawsuit. Publicly available footage shows him to physically abuse women and have serious substance abuse issues but view it yourself and then decide.

Jonathan Colon Garcia says he’s a “cat trapper” yet has no known employment. He is thought to be an alcoholic and substance abuser by many and his behavior does little to dispel these allegations. He is the “Director’s Assistant” andocassional transporter for Humans and Animals United and from what we’ve been able to ascertain, he assists this rescue by viciously attacking their critics and engaging in smear campaigns which he lodges against those that have expressed concern over the way this rescue operates. These smear campaigns involve fabricating absolute lies about people, creating repulsive Facebook pages with defamatory titles and content, calling his victims at all hours of the day and night leaving disturbing messages and enlisting the help of his wife, Sylvia Perrea Cortes to join him in his crusade of harrassment and defamation against others.

Jonathan has been accused of stalking multiple women and there are numerous police reports on file about his threatening behavior. Just recently, Jonathan and his wife Sylvia lost a major Defamation Lawsuit that was filed against them by one of their many victims. They are now attempting to overturn that judgement.

A self proclaimed "animal advocate" who is an administrator for an Anti-Pitbull Group?

What Jonathan and Humans and Animals United keep close to their vest and have never spoken about is that he was and is believed to still be an adminstrator for an anti pitbull Reddit group that demonizes these types of dogs and advocates for their total eradication. This group espouses rhetoric such as “The only good pitbull is a dead pitbull” and “No one should ever own a pitbull and those that do should just put a bullet in their head”. These are among the nicer comments.

As if it couldn’t get more ironic, both Jonathan and Rosa Fond were on the board of the group “Miami Coalition Against Breed Specific Legislation”. This group advocates for the elimination of breed specific legislation that places pitbull type dogs in danger of euthanasia—the very thing Jonathan’s Reddit group would like to see for every pitbull dog in existence. Take a moment to let that sink in. At the time of this writing, this organization appears to have cut ties with both Mr. Garcia and Mrs. Fond but some believe it is for appearances only.

Jonathan, as an administrator of this group, advocates for the death and elimination of pitbulls while he is A) The director’s assistant with Humans and Animals United and B) a board member of a group that heavily advocates for bully breeds.

Rosa Fond is using this very breed of dog to enrich herself with while her assistant is involved with an anti pitbull group/movement. The irony is something you truly couldn’t make up.

Disturbing Video Footage

This unfortuante event landed Jonathan’s common law wife Sylvia arrested for battery and shows a highly intoxicated and clearly drug affected couple, the same couple that attacks and harasses people for Humans and Animals United.

Here’s Jonathan’s recent brush with the law. Just another arrest for battery and resisting an officer – a sad but common occurance.

But what’s even more disturbing is a recording showing Jonathan and his wife Sylvia in a truly alarming state. Many who saw this reel expressed concern for the safety of Sylvia who appears to be extremely distressed with a bloody nose.

Jonathan posted this incredibly disturbing footage himself – on his own Facebook page, for reasons that defy understanding. The only logical conclusion is that he was under the influence of something which certainly does not diminish the seriousness of his behavior.

Jonathan uses his Facebook page and other social media platforms to promote demonstrably false narratives about individuals he has decided are his enemies or the enemies of Humans and Animals United, all while presenting himself as a supposed advocate for truth within the rescue community. He is not an advocate. His conduct reflects a pattern of harassment—creating disturbing content targeting individuals, encouraging others to attack them, and intentionally escalating conflict.

Despite his claims, his actions produce no meaningful benefit for animals or people and have a consistently harmful impact instead. He repeatedly seeks attention and validation online from followers who lack any real understanding of who he is or how he operates. His history shows recurring involvement with law enforcement, including arrests related to domestic violence, yet he routinely avoids accountability through evasion and failed service attempts in civil matters. His criminal charges never stick as his wife Sylvia refuses to press charges.

This lack of boundaries, coupled with a belief that he is untouchable, makes his behavior particularly dangerous. Individuals and organizations such as Humans and Animals United and Rosa Fond rely on people like Jonathon to carry out attacks and smear campaigns on their behalf, allowing others to maintain plausible deniability. As Rosa herself has stated publicly, this arrangement keeps her hands clean while others do the dirty work.

In the meantime, Jonathan Colon Garcia continues to wage war against anyone who speaks up about Humans and Animals United. Rosa exels in establishing relationships with people like Jonathan Colon Garcia – it’s what keeps the wheels turning in her money making enterprise disguised as a “rescue”.
