Rosa Fond, formally “Rosa Hilda Company” is of Peruvian descent. She claims that as a small child she and her family were forced to flee to the United States when Peruvian thugs were threatening the lives of her family members. This story, not unlike most of Rosa’s stories, is dubious at best.
Humans and Animals United represents themselves as a “501c3 non-profit, no-kill, volunteer animal rescue organization based in Florida serving all United States”.
In reality, this rescue is a FOR PROFIT money making enterprise that leverages innocent dogs for their own personal financial gain.
Prior to finding out about dog rescue and finding it to be “easy money” with their calculated pledges scheme Rosa found herself working at The Brass Flamingo – a Port Richey, Florida “Adult Entertainment” club. You can draw your own conclusion as to what capacity Rosa worked at this adult club. It is believed that this is where she met Anthony Fond – the suspected mastermind behind what has come to be Humans and Animals United.
The Fonds went to work formulating an easier and better way to make a living – certainly easier than stripping or dealing drugs. Less risky, dangerous or detectable especially if you dress it up all over social media as a “charity” doing good. Like most con artists the Fonds are skilled at the art of deception and shameless self promotion.
According to Rosa’s Linkedin Profile, she’s has had an illustrious career as an “Actress” and “Runway Model”. She portrays herself as quite the business mogul based on her self ingratiating depiction of herself. Extensive research has been conducted and there is simply no evidence of Ms. Fond’s modeling or acting career other than a couple of features in the DoDo that many believe were nothing more than paid PR.
Rosa is known to elaborate about how she “owns multiple highly successful businesses”. Yet, despite much investigation into her professional affiliations, there is simply no proof of any type of gainful employment – just a lot of phony fluff on Linkedin by her and her husband Anthony. The companies they claim they are so successful with appear to be shell companies – many of which have expired state registrations.
One of the hallmark signs of a scam rescue is when the founder claims they have a “real job” when in fact, that is nothing more than a smoke screen. Claiming she and her husband have an income source, Rosa somehow believes that this is enough to dissuade anyone from accusing her of living off of the donations she receives for the dogs she “rescues”.
Anthony Fond was born Anthony Hinkle and for the majority of his life has floundered. Bouncing from one ill thought out money making scheme to the next. A twice convicted felon, he decided to change his name from Anthony Hinkle to Anthony Fond in an obvious attempt to escape his felonious history. When you have a multitude of websites all designed to give people the impression that you are a honest individual (one you can invest your money with) you can’t have a pesky felony hanging over your head. So you change your name and reinvent yourself.
Would you invest with a convicted drug dealer? Someone desiring “easy money” while being deceptive to acquire it at someone else’s expense? Someone who is always running some sort of con it seems?
Enter the former stripper and convicted drug dealer who seem to have bonded over a lifetime of shared schemes and cons. READ MORE ABOUT ANTHONY FOND HERE.
The Fonds have combined their shared talent and in 2017 formed Humans and Animals United under the guise of “rescuing” dogs. When they discovered rescue they realized people will easily part with their hard earned money to help save the life of a shelter dog.
Oh what an operation they have set up. It’s an elaborate scheme involving a few highly disturbed unemployed devotees, having pledged their allegiance to the Fonds to the extent that Jim Jones would be jealous. In other words, they drank the Kool Aid, just like any good cult follower would.
Their grift is actually quite simple – tug on the heartstrings of unsuspecting people by having them think a dog is going to be euthanized unless the rescue receives enough donations to save its life. How much is “enough”? To the Fonds, they simply will not bother “saving” any dog unless they can take in many thousands of dollars and it is not uncommon for them to generate in excess of $10K-$12K per dog they “rescue”.
Through a network of fake “networking” pages they hide behind that give the appearance of being connected to a shelter and/or for the benefit of other rescues wanting to network their dogs, they post the same sad pictures and stories of a dog they know will generate the most donations. Then they sit back and wait for the money to roll in. They have dozens of known pages and dozens upon dozens of fake Facebook profiles that are monitored and managed by Rosa and her inner circle who are believed by many to receive their cut of all money collected. We can’t confirm who is being paid and how much, however, it stands to reason that money is a motivating factor among this trope and nothing gains loyalty better than cool hard cash. A good month for the Fonds can net them $30K+ in TAX FREE donations and many suspect much more. The average donor who thinks their modest donation will actually go towards saving the life of the dog they’ve seen in a Facebook post has no idea that the same dog is being promoted on 20+ other pages including Linkedin. They also solicit pledges on Instagram, Tik Tok, X and Reddit.
Many of the dogs being used as their money-making props require very little vet care. Some are vetted by the shelter they were pulled from. Most dogs have relatively common and non-complex issues such as respiratory infections or skin issues. All easily and affordably treated. However their conditions are almost always exaggerated and made to appear as if they require costly and extensive veterinary care. The only updates that are posted are incredibly vague and infrequent solely intended to appease the public. In reality no one will ever truly know where the dog ends up.
Donors that ask questions deemed too probing by Rosa and her cohorts will be blocked from all pages after being accused of creating “drama”.
Where do all of these dogs go? What kind of lives do they end up having? These are questions that many have asked and there are few believable answers. No dogs are listed on their Petfinder page or website. No reviews from people who have adopted or fostered a dog from this outfit can be found. The “updates” this rescue posts about some of their dogs are typically not the dog’s final destination as many get bounced around more than a few times and adoption announcements have been made of dogs that are actually deceased. If people are lucky, they will see a picture of a dog they donated towards once pulled from the shelter with one of their foster who warehouse dogs for them, but rarely will anyone ever see where the dog finally ends up. Sometimes they end up in shelters clear across the country or worse – dead, something this rescue works overtime to cover up.
Deeply disturbing are the numerous, verified accounts of dogs being sent to terrible people living in deplorable conditions and others that are completely illequipped to care for a dog. How can a rescue pull so many pit and bully breeds, many with behavior issues, and find as many “good” homes for them as this rescue claims it has done with seemingly no issues -ever? What happens when things don’t work out? There is a very high fail rate with first adoptions and even higher with foster homes. Truly reputable and the most wonderful and diligent of rescues experience these difficulties on a regular basis. Yet Humans and Animals United expects the public to believe that they have a 100% success rate with every dog they pull, no problems ever.
You will never see them post about a dog whose foster flaked or adopter changed their mind. You will never see a single post seeking out new fosters or adopters for specific dogs that didn’t work out in their foster home or new adopter’s home as is common with all rescues.
Many people have given accounts of the dogs this “rescue” pulls, meeting a terrible fate and in the total absence of any transparency, one can only shudder when they think about the fate of many of these dogs. All for the love of money by these two charlatans – Rosa and Anthony Fond. READ ABOUT THEIR FAILED DOGS HERE.
What you will find as you peruse this site is indisputable proof of how Rosa and Anthony Fond, along with their goons truly operate. You’ll see proof of their con, their lies, their reckless and irresponsible treatment of dogs, their mafia style of silencing their critics, their threats, their bullying and their entire fraudulent fundraising practices. Sadly, you will also learn about the many dogs this “rescue” has placed in harms way and the tragic demise of the dogs they have used as money making pawns who met a horrific fate.
