Blanco was pulled from Miami Dade Animal Services by Humans and Animals United in August of 2024 and for lack of a better word “dumped” on an ill-equipped and overwhelmed foster where she remained until her tragic demise in October of 2025.
The foster reports that she was told by the rescue that Blanco was “end of life” and had “full on cancer” yet despite these claims, after the initial vet visit once released from the shelter, Blanco never saw a vet ever again. No treatment plan was put in place and no pallative care was ever provided. There are some that wonder how a foster could go along with this total absence of care and we have wondered this as well. It just illustrates how this rescue places dogs with people who are disatvantaged to the extent that they have no real ability to properly care for them. This reckless disregard for the welfare of these dogs is ultimately the responsibility of Humans and Animals United, no one else.
Blanco came to this foster in absolutely terrible condition with not so much as a collar, leash or bag of dog food. The foster took in a total of seven dogs for HAAU, all denied any vet care despite some of them having been promoted as “hospice” cased to the public who gave signficant donations for their care.
Through all of the dog fights that occured in this foster’s home that resulted in the death of multiple dogs and animal control confiscating six dogs at various times, Blanco witnessed a lot but always wagged his tail and had an “eager to love and be loved” attitude. He didn’t know he was forgotten about by the rescue that vowed to ensure he would have a good life. The rescue that profited heavily from his very existence.
The rescue knew exactly what type of home they placed Blanco in. They knew all about the dog fights, the multiple deaths involving their very own dogs and about all the dogs confiscated by animal control yet they still allowed Blanco to remain there and they still continued to dump more dogs on this foster.
Humans and Animals United had no use for Blanco once he was pulled from MDAS, generating over $10K despite their claims that he would be loved and protected. Here is the video they made for their donors to further the illusion that he was being loved and well cared for. Of course, it was all just smoke and mirrors.
Blanco can be seen in this video with Hercules, another HAAU dog that met a tragic end as well.
Blanco deserved to be loved and protected, not used as a pawn for the financial enrichment of the rescue’s owners Rosa and Anthony Fond.
In October, 2025, Blanco was allowed to get out of his foster’s home and was struck by a car and fatally killed.
Sadly, this is not an uncommon occurance for this rescue and the people they choose to entrust their dogs with as evident in the many stories contained within this website.
Blanco was never given much consideration by this rescue and like the others, he deserved so much more.
If you are as outraged by this blatant disregard for the welfare of the dogs that so many caring people thought their donations would be going towards providing a better life for, please let the shelter know you implore them to permanently ban Humans and Animals United from pulling dogs.
