Oliver and Lilly's Story

Lilly

Oliver

Oliver and Lilly were just two out of many dogs that Humans and Animals United “warehoused” with a woman we’ll refer to as “Amy” that had an extensive criminal history and a documented history of dog fights breaking out in her home as well as having dogs impounded by animal control.

HAAU does not conduct background checks on their prospective adopters or fosters and they have an established history of placing dogs with people they can manipulate and exploit for their own money motivated purposes.

We’ll start with Lilly. She was pulled from Miami Dade Animal Services in November of 2024 after the shelter performed surgery to remove an obstruction said to be from ingesting part of a towel. This cost the rescue nothing, however, they solicited over $6,000 in pledges and what is believed to be additional funds from direct donations.

HAAU placed Lilly with Amy directly from the shelter using their same emotionally manipulative tactics – claiming that Amy was Lilly’s only hope and would otherwise be euthanized. Lilly was dropped off at Amy’s home without so much as a bag of food, collar, leash or flea/tick/heartworm preventatives like all of the seven dogs this rescue literally dumped on her at various times.

Amy was pressured into formally adopting Lilly, however, she refused and feeling overwhelmed with too many dogs, dealing with dog fights and minimal resources, she asked HAAU to take Lilly back. Amy reports that Barbara “Queenbee” initially was angry with the prospect of taking her back but after Amy insisted, someone arrived a few days later to pick up Lilly.

There have been NO UPDATES on Lilly and knowing how HAAU posts “fake updates”, there is no reason to believe any updates they would provide at this point would be authentic. No one knows what happened to Lilly and if she’s still alive.

Here is the last update HAAU made about Lilly. It was just another tear jerker video intended to maximize the amount of pledges, direct donations and sponsorships this rescue receives for every single dog they “rescue” from Miami Dade Animal Services.

Oliver’s story sadly isn’t much better than Lilly’s.

As with Lilly and the other five dogs Humans and Animals United essentially dumped on Amy, Oliver was dropped off with her in October of 2024. Once again, HAAU guilted Amy into taking him, letting her believe that he would be euthanized if she didn’t agree to take him in.

Oliver had a skin condition, however, he was dropped off with just a bottle of medicated shampoo with no real directive on how to use it or how often. Amy was not instructed at any point to take him to the vet for a follow up visit for the NINE MONTHS months that she had Oliver. As with the other six dogs this rescue unloaded on Amy, she was given no flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, food, collar or leash despite this rescue generating over $5K in pledges and additionl funds in direct donations and sponsorships.

In August of 2025, another dog fight erupted in Amy’s home and animal control came to seize five of Amy’s dogs. Oliver, along with another of HAAU’s dog’s Bonnie, was confiscated and remained at animal control until HAAU was able to retrieve them.

EVEN AFTER THIS, HAAU continued to persude Amy to take in more dogs for them.

As of today, this rescue has scrubbed most of their posts about Oliver, no doubt to obscure the amount of pledges they received. No updates about him have been provided and considering that four out of the six dogs HAAU dumped on Amy ended up tragically dying, the other two being confiscated by animal control, many fear Oliver may no longer be alive. We would love to see verifiable information on Oliver’s true status.

Here’s another tear jerker HAAU blasted across their web of fake networking pages about Oliver.

It must be reiterated that four out of the six dogs Humans and Animals United placed in Amy’s care died tragically and the other two are suspected dead after being seized by animal control. All six dogs generated over $45,000.00 in pledges alone, not factoring in direct donations or sponsorships.

All dogs were pulled by this rescue from Miami Dade Animal Services.

If you are as outraged by this blatant disregard for the welfare of the dogs that so many caring people thought their donations would be going toward providing a better life, please let the shelter know you implore them to permanently ban Humans and Animals United from pulling dogs.
