Barbara Ranberg Smith AKA "Barbara Queenbee"
This woman is believed to be Humans and Animals United’s head goon. Once you see how maliciously she attacks this rescue’s critics, you’ll have a better sense of who she truly is and why this rescue keeps her around to do their dirty work.
Barbara Ranberg Smith is a woman with a deeply troubled past. She lives in Wheaton, Illinois and appears to be well known to the Wheaton Police Department as evident in the numerous highly disturbing complaints they have on file about her.
One of the most disturbing things we’ve uncovered is that she was acting as a state approved caregiver for her disabled sister and how an investigation by the State of Illinois determined that she was neglecting her sister and failing to to the provide adequate care. The State found that Barbara, despite receiving regular payments from the State to act as her sister’s caregiver, failed her sister miserably after receiving a report from her own nephew accusing her of numerous accounts of neglect and abuse. The State revoked Smith’s caregiver status when their investigation concluded that there had been severe neglect and abuse. Police reports filed by Barbara’s nephew below touch upon this.
When Barbara isn’t busy pushing pledges and sending dogs off to terrible people, thousands of miles away, she regularly maligns any of the rescue’s critics.
Ironically, there was a time that even Barbara, who gave herself the moniker of “Queenbee”, was also critical of Rosa and Anthony Fond’s rescue operation and made these comments under the guise of her many fake profiles “Brody Shepherd”:
It is unclear what transpired to change Barbara’s opinion of Rosa Fond to the degree in which she is now her most faithful foot soldier, however, it is widely reported that Barbara receives a cut of all pledges she is able to generate and collect on behalf of this “rescue”.
For a woman who has no gainful employment, lives off of government assistance and is reported to rarely leave her house – she has nothing but time to bully, harass and threaten those that have attempted to shed some light on her rescue’s highly deceptive and dangerous operating practices.
Rosa Fond not only allows this type of vile behavior from her “goons”, she encourages it. Just recently, Barbara “Queenbee” attacked a handful of advocates with this semi coherent rant where she attacks a total of TWELVE different people who have been critical of her rescue:
One would think this type of behavior would be discouraged by any sane, reasonable person, instead, Rosa Fond chimes in that she is in full support of her head goon’s deplorable behavior.
Could it be because Rosa Fond “owns” all of her critics?

According to Barbara, everyone who has anything remotely critical to say about her “rescue”, Humans and Animals United, are all “drunks, felons, drug addicts and dog killers”.
Barbara’s frequent vicious and grossly untrue attacks on those that have spoken up and the multitude of reprehensible pages she is believed to have created are known to many. She does this in an attempt to diminish the credibility of anyone who raises suspicions and speaks out about her rescue’s operation.

Police Reports Regarding Barbara Smith AKA Barbara Queenbee
For someone who falsely accuses others of having criminal records and being felons when they have never been convicted of a single crime, Barbara Ranberg Smith sure has had her share of brushes with the law. Here are a few.
FOID Revocation. Barbara Smith had her Firearm Owner Identification Card REVOKED. This ONLY happens in the case of 1. Restraining Order 2. Felony Indictiment 3. Drug charges. Whichever the case, the state of Illinois felt that revoking her ability to carry a firearm was necessary.
This is a report that was filed when Barbara was accused by an advocate of endangering the life of the dogs she and her rescue pulls and being suspected of dog figthing. Meanwhile she accuses others of the same.
A Domestic Violence Incident
This report was filed when Barbara got into it with a neighbor. Apparently she does not play well with others.
This report was filed when Barbara got into an altercation with her daughter.
Barbara being accused of phone harassment – not a surprise.
Barbara going at it with yet another family member – her own nephew. Apprently he wasn’t too happy with how she was neglecting his mother when she was being paid by the state to be her caregiver.

Barbara threatened to shoot her BB gun at a dog.
The Principal of the grade school Barbara’s second grade child attended felt the need to file a police report against Barbara due to “numerous negative contacts” and concerns over her “violent behavior” being directed to another second grade student.
The same Principal, once again, felt the need to file a police report agsinst Barbara for leaving threatening messages for him. He also reports of her threats including telling him that he “doesn’t want her husband” to come after him because “he’s crazy” and that she has “Chicago gang ties”.
